
Lou Sherman is the Packaging Research Leader at Scion, the research institute focusing on forestry, fibres and bio products in New Zealand. Lou has a background in packaging development, including 10 years’ experience working for food and pharmaceutical companies in Europe and New Zealand. The packaging program she is leading is focused on predicting and measuring corrugated box performance, particularly in the chilled supply chain; developing bio based films; and packaging technologies which enable product traceability. The overall the objective of Scion’s packaging research is to maintain food safety and security in export markets such as China. From her involvement with the network, wants to gain a better understanding of the consumer perceptions and regulatory requirements in China that could influence the introduction of new packaging innovations
